    Emi Jewellery Bracelet Set

I was contacted by Emi jewellery and asked if I would like to collaborate with them.  I was very exited by this as I LOVE jewellery.

There are lots of gorgeous pieces on the online shop.  The set I picked was from the love from Paris, it is so versatile as it can easily be stacked with other bracelets.

Emi do affordable costume jewellery, I have picked out my top picks from the website below.  These would make amazing gifts for birthdays or Christmas.  I love the fact that these bracelets stretch therefore it means you don’t have to worry about them being too small or big when buying these for a gift.

I just can not get over how pretty these bracelets are! Every time I look at them I feel the same. I have gotten so many complements on them too.

    The Battle Of The Brows

When it comes to brows I need all the help I can get!!!  I have been using lots of different brow products and pencils for years.  I decided I would share my best findings with you all.  Lets be honest eyebrows can completely change your look whether you are going for a soft everyday look or a glam evening look.

Nyx Micro Brow Pencil – My absolute favourite product is this micro brow pencil by NYX.  As it has a fine point it means you can be very precise where the product is applied.  Its more of a soft cream texture not like the normal pencils.  I find this is really good for filling in and adding a nice shape to the brows.  It lets you draw individual hair strokes too.  It’s so handy too, how you have the pencil and spool in one.  The shades I use in this are Taupe and Chocolate

BPerfect Brow Kit – This kit is amazing! You get 3 stencils (which I have used over and over again), powder and a double ended brush.  This powder definitely lasts all day, it is smudge proof and sweat proof, I have even worn it into the swimming pool when on holiday.  I have found the stencils so handy when I am in a rush, they are not too flimsy so stay in place, I have LOADS of makeup brushes but alwayfound the brush supplied to Be Perfect for this kit, no pun intended 🙂 Also this kit has lasted me over a year and I have used it ALOT.  Bperfect have kindly given us a discount code which can be used to purchase this brow kit for a limited time only.  Please find the link to the brow kit and use code june20 for 20% off.

Revolution Eyebrow Pomade – I used this more last week when we where away for a few days.  It is one I forget about sometimes. I think the colour is a little dark for me with my hair being lighter.   The consistency is a little thicker but it does have great lasting power.  I find it easy to blend out too. Very little is needed so this product will also last ages!

Primark Brow Pencil – If you have thicker brows naturally this product would be good for you.  Unlike the micro brow pencil by NYX this one is thicker and maybe not as precise for applying.  Having said that I still love it.  For £2 you are getting the brow pencil, powder and spool.  Just thinking about it this would be great to carry in your handbag to touch up for an unexpected evening out after work.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the different brow products, feel free to ask me any questions in the comments below.  Or comment to let me know what you favourite brow products are.

    Until Next Time

    Valentines Day

We all want to mark that special day with our loved one, whether it is valentines day, anniversary or just a date night.

Sometimes the problem is limited funds or just not knowing what to do to make it special.  We all know that things can be double the price when it comes to valentines day eating out etc.

It doesn’t always have to be spending lots of money to make it a special day.  I thought I would put together some simple ideas of ways to make it special.

Hope you have a lovely evening whatever you decide to do.

    Happy Valentines day xx

DIY Ring light for under £20

Anyone who takes pictures weather it be with their smartphone, camera, etc will know how much the lightening can make a difference to getting that “perfect Pic”.

I looked online at ring lights which were about £80 without a stand, which for me at this time would be to much to invest.  I love to take pictures but often with my work schedule it can mean I would be taking them in the evening, so the natural light coming in is very minimal.

I decided I would look on Amazon (where I seem to look for everything) and found some strip lighting, this was exactly what I was looking for.   For £12.79 I am sure I could set it up some way to work as a ring light.

    51IzDL2nDDL._SX425_

I asked my other half to cut me out a round frame for it and he managed to do this from hardboard.  The strip light comes with a backing on it and if you peel this off it has a sticky adhesive so I was able to take my time and go around the circle cut out.  In places I did need to leave it raised up as the connection had to be left in one full strip to work.

    Vase with flower arrangement

    vase1

I was in Tesco in Antrim a couple of weeks back and noticed they had these pretty vases for £2, bargain!

I bought the vase and a candle to fit inside but wanted to do more with it as you couldn’t really go wrong at that money.   I bought a couple of single stem flowers in poundland yesterday.  I sat down today and used some Epsom salts in the bottom as it was all I had available (I will see how they last but they can be easily changed).  The stones I had already sitting in a bowl and some shells I picked up at the beach.

I just started playing about with ideas and put this together.  It looks very pretty and I am sure if you bought it in a shop it would be a lot more than £5 all together.

    • Vase £2
    • Candle £1
    • Flowers 2 stems £2
    • Epsom salts already had along with stones and shells.

    Samsung S8

Received my Samsung S8 on pre order 20th April 2017.IMG_1849.JPG
Truth be told I am a bit of, well ok a lot of, a gadget girl.  I had been using my fiances S7 edge as my previous samsung packed up.  I used this for 6 months.  I secretly kept checking for the next Samsung phone release knowing my contract was up for renewal in May.  I got an email about pre-ordering the Samsung S8 or S8+.  I spent a week or so convincing myself and well, I needed a new phone so my partner could have his back.  I ordered the S8 through mobiles.co.uk who were by far the cheapest.  As it was pre order it arrived on 20th April.  First thoughts were this is smaller than the S7 edge.  When I actually held them together they were the same height but the width of the S8 was narrower, which is good for smaller hands.  I often found taking selfies especially were a tad awkward on the S7 edge.
I opted for the colour grey.  I love the massive 5.8inch display.  I have to admit that having no home key takes a bit of getting used to, I find myself pressing the buttons at the side just to light up the screen so I can then unlock it.  The Iris scanner is excellent, I do not keep this on all of the time but when I have tried it I have no problems.  Now moving on to Bixby, to be honest I have no idea what this is supposed to do but I don’t feel it helps whatsoever.
I am addicted to my smartphone, I never use my ipad or laptop on a daily basis as my phone can do everything I need to do, most of the time its much easier than starting up the laptop.  The camera is very similar to the quality of pictures on the S7 edge which also had a 12MP camera, although the front camera is much better at 8MP.  Resolution and focus have majorly improved. I think the apps have a better look of them too, it feels more like an Iphone than Samsung but its a really nice change. I have had this phone now for two weeks exactly, so far there have been two software updates come through which I have completed.  So this is a good sign too.
I would much rather have this than the S7 edge as with the edge I found it difficult to hold the handset without pressing the edges. The 64gb storage is a massive bonus for me, I do love to take pictures, screenshots and have music downloaded to my phone.   This phone comes with usb type C, which is supposed to be better but,  all of the chargers I have around my home and car are the USB type B so I needed to purchase a few extra usb cables.

I hope this review helps you decide if the Samsung S8 is for you.  Any questions or thoughts please feel free to comment below.

Nicky Clarke Hair Therapy Wide Plate Hair Straightener

HairI have thought about getting new straighteners for a while.  I have had GHD straighteners for about 10 years or so.  They just have lost a little heat which is to be expected as they lasted so well.  My hair is thick and is definitely frizz .  I do straiten my hair every other day so they get a lot of use.   When I looked online to see which straighteners I would get I noticed the wider plates.  I did not want to pay as much as what GHDS cost I wanted something about the £30-£40 mark.
    IMG_1805
I couldn’t really make up my mind which to go for, but one day when in Asda in Antrim I noticed they had some on offer.  The Nicky Clark hair therapy was exactly what I was looking for, they looked the perfect size for my mid length hair.
I could not wait to try these out the next day as I hoped there were exactly what i was looking for and the sure did meet my expectations.  I went from spending 30 minutes straightening to 10 minutes as I was able to to bigger sections at the time and they left my hair frizz free.  If anyone has thick or frizzy hair like mine I would definitely recommend investing in a wide plate hair straightener.  I think this is the first Nicky Clark item I have bought and I was very pleased with it.
This was my hair on the second day after I straightened it the day before so it lasted really well.  Usually my hair would either be greasy due to the product I normally have to used to get it smooth, or it would be frizzy if no products were used but this was all just done with the straightener as I wanted to get a good view of how they really were.

    Hilton Hotel Templepatrick

We decided20170410_150135[1] that we wanted to have a relaxation day. I have seen some LivingSocial deals for the Hilton Templepatrick.  Unfortunately we had missed the deal but decided it looks lovely so we would give it a try.  My partner rang them to see if it was possible to book afternoon tea but they said unfortunately this has to be booked a week in advance.  We did not really mind about this as we would still go and have lunch and also use the health suite. The hotel was easy to find, with good parking facilities.

We went into the lounge bar and got a nice table with a view of the golf course.  The waiter took our drinks order and did not leave it too long to come back for the food order. To be honest the menu was poor and not a lot of choice. I decided to have BLT and he had and Angus beef burger with bacon and cheese both came with skinny fries. I have to say this was the worst meal we have had in a long time. The bacon in the BLT was extremely crispy which was horrible as it all just tasted burnt.  My partner’s burger looked pretty much the same ,overcooked and dry. We had the two main meals and a glass of coke each which came to £36 which seems very steep.HL_poolwid_7_675x359_FitToBoxSmallDimension_Center

We then made our way to Living well health club.  It was £10 each to use the facility’s which we really enjoyed.  They also supplied the towels which is good.  There was a gym, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and bubble spa. I don’t go to the pool as often as I would like to, I find it so relaxing and really helps those tense muscles. The pool was excellent and perfect temperature.  The bubble spa was good but only seemed to come on every 15 or 20 minutes so it would have been better if it was on all of the time.  There was not a lot of people in the pool maybe around 20, but because the bubble pool/Jacuzzi only came on every 20 minutes or so it meant you had to wait to get a space.
All in all it was a nice day out but I don’t think we would eat here again.  We will definitely go back to use the leisure facilitys as its a nice day out at a pool that is quiet and very much relaxing.
